The Australia Defence Forces Academy (ADFA) has a data base with a brief summary of each WW1 soldier. ADFA data base

You can view the official service record of each WW1 soldier at the Australian War Memorial (AWM). Service Records (When you get there click on the NameSearch tab to start a search.)

The AWM also maintains a "Roll of Honour" for those who died during the war. This includes a photograph, if available, and Cemetery or memorial details. Roll of Honour
